Once again, training institute Alex van Groningen chose DeFabrique as the site for their annual conference, 2016 Finance Transformation. In previous years, a lot of attention was paid to the digital transformation of our society and of the corporate world, but this year, the focus was on new (r)evolutions such as Artificial Intelligence, Circular Economy, Generation Z and Emerging markets. If your conference is all about digital (r)evolutions, you absolutely need to set the right example yourself. That is why one of the plenary sessions was reinforced digitally by BuzzMaster Rens de Jong. The audience was given the opportunity to ask the speaker questions using smartphones, ensuring optimum engagement throughout the room. Several polls were also conducted, leading to interesting results.
We have been organising the Finance Transformation annual conference at DeFabrique for 5 years now. Thanks in part to the DeFabrique team, we were able to turn this event into a resounding success. DeFabrique is a great events venue due to the versatility of their spaces and the proactive staff.
Alex van Groningen aimed to surprise, including in terms of the catering. As such, we served fresh juice from two Vitaminis at Warehouse 7, the guests got to sample cold meats and cheeses, and two crème brûlée ladies entertained them by blow-torching their desserts live. Stuart, our food train, traversed the space carrying freshly made soups in a wide range of flavours. All the while, live band Cuata played their contemporary, authentic brand of world music, like a ‘sultry, exotic breeze blowing through the rural Dutch landscape’.
