HOMIJ Technische Installaties has designed, realised, and maintained technical installations in the grandest of buildings as of 1882. As technology is becoming increasingly important, their role and market has changed over time. Event marketing agency Dechesne & Boertje was inspired by their new slogan, ‘Our DNA in every building’, and turned the staff event into a journey of discovery, called Expedition HOMIJ. Engineers and location managers alike, all were challenged on this hot Saturday night.
Dechesne & Boertje had HOMIJ’s employees break with tradition right at the start of the event by having them literally run through a wall of boxes. On the other side, they encountered a series of challenges and delicious food served up in a festival-like environment. Here are just a few of the options that on offer: wheatgrass shots, a shave by an authentic barber, or having their hair blown upwards by an air gun. And to top it all off, the managers of the seven different HOMIJ branches surprised their staff with a musical performance! Sparks literally flew as their performed an edgy percussion act in the characteristic Copra Warehouse – a surprising concept that delighted everyone!
We are able to look back on a very successful event. The combination of delicious food and varied entertainment ensured that there was something for everyone. DeFabrique is a highly professional team; everyone knows what they are doing, meaning that they are great to work with.
DeFabrique enjoys local specialties. To ensure that the HOMIJ employees, who had come in from all over the country, would feel at home, we served local specialties sourced from the areas in which HOMIJ operates. For example, the guests got to sample traditional sausages from Groningen, Old Amsterdam cheese with grainy mustard from Amsterdam, Eindhoven’s sausage rolls, Vocking sausage from Vianen, authentic Limburg fruit pie or ‘vlaai’, and ‘Haagsche Hopjes’ candy from Rijswijk.
