For and by physical therapists

Once again, the Dutch Royal Physical Therapy Association or KNGF organised the Day of the Physical Therapist at DeFabrique. Over 1,600 physical therapists attended lectures about relevant science, their profession, innovation and entrepreneurship, engaged practically in workshops, and examined the latest innovations and products on the trade floor.

ABOUT KNGF

The Dutch Royal Physical Therapy Association or KNGF is the face of the Dutch physical therapy industry. The KNGF looks after the interests of physical therapists, safeguards quality levels in the industry, stimulates expertise, and provides various services for its 19,000 members.

Optimum networking

According to KNGF chairwoman Guusje ter Horst, the Day of the Physical Therapist is primarily intended for people to get to know fellow industry professionals. One way to do so was by frequenting the KNGF Meeting Plaza, as well as during the various breaks between the plenary programme elements and sub sessions organised in all of DeFabrique’s spaces. The Science Plaza also made for an excellent place for people to interact; over 100 studies in the field of physical therapy were presented there, making it a great source for consultation and discussion.

Time and time again, we come to the same conclusion; organising an event at DeFabrique means adding a team of people to your event who will collaborate with you throughout the entire process and do their utmost to make sure your event is a resounding success, an objective we obviously share!

Well-known individuals

Well-known individuals from the world of sports and exercise helped the many students and professionals connect throughout the day. For example, Paralympics tennis champion Esther Vergeer talked about perseverance and how to deal with setbacks. Trend watcher Richard van Hooijdonk looked ahead to what healthcare will be like in 2030. Finally, a range of awards were presented, namely the prestigious Fysio in Beeld, James Gerlag, and Jaco den Dekker thesis awards. In short, there was plenty of inspiration to be had for the coming year!
